Moko Jumbie Night
Tuesdays
Local stilt walkers know as Moko Jumbies perform at the Mermaid Restaurant. The colorfully clad tall dancers have been bearers of Virgin Island’s cultural heritage for over 200 years. The tradition can be traced to Africa as far back as the 13th and 14th centuries. Moko Jumbies typically perform at carnivals and celebrations and their presence is said to bring good luck.
