The Buccaneer features eight Laykold courts, two lit for night play. Tennis magazine has called The Buccaneer "the best tennis resort in the Virgin Islands". A fully-stocked pro shop provides top-of-the-line equipment and stringing services. Tennis Director Don deWilde has been there 30 years, far longer than any resort pro anywhere in the islands, and a longevity that seems appropriate at a family run resort. Not only does Buccaneer tennis pro Don deWilde know tennis, he knows the game of most of the Buccaneer's repeat guests and local players.
A graduate of the College of William and Mary in Virginia, Don bounced around a few Caribbean resorts before finding his home on the sunny shores of St. Croix. Don feels two things make tennis at The Buccaneer special: the opportunity to play outdoors 365 days a year in the spectacular setting, and the clientele.
