St. Croix Scenic 50 Race Report - The First "Ultramarathon" Held On St. Croix

The inaugural St. Croix ultramarathon was held on Sunday, January 24 with twelve runners at the start and was hosted by the island's premier resort, The Buccaneer. The 50 mile course from Christiansted over the Scenic Drive (Jeep Trail) to Fredericksted and back, finishing on the beach at The Buccaneer, boasts 4,700 feet of elevation change on hills with grades up to 24 percent.

Alex Kostich Wins the 14th Annual St Croix Coral Reef Swim for 10th Time

Alex Kostich returned to St Croix for his 10th win of the annual Buck Island to The Buccaneer Five Mile Swim, now in its 14th year. Competing with 116 swimmers from all over the globe, Kostich completed the course in a time of 1 hour, 43 minutes, 44 seconds, just six minutes off of his own course record.
