Beach Activities and Water Sports
Guests receive complimentary use of paddleboards, ocean kayaks, snorkeling gear, floating mats, beach toys and games at our staffed Beach Shacks located on Mermaid and Grotto Beaches. Guests enjoy two pools, one located at the Great House, and one at The Grotto Beach. Our beach attendants host weekly snorkeling and kayaking tours to showcase our beautiful bays and sea life. Volleyball, soccer, corn hole, ping pong and beachside basketball are also offered. Learn-to-scuba classes are available for guests 10 years old and over. Guests successfully completing this complimentary two-hour sessions may opt for a shallow open water dive either the same day or another day during their stay at extra charge.
Complimentary use of our fitness equipment, including treadmills, elliptical machines, seated pedal bike, bench press, and free weights, is available 24/7. For outdoor fitness, a meandering two-mile trail that includes Par Course work-out stations can be accessed in the early morning and late afternoon hours.
Yoga is available seasonally for an additional fee.

Complimentary Fitness Walk: Join fitness expert Amy Roberts for a weekly complimentary walking tour of our two-mile fitness trail. Come ready to test out the Par Course stations and learn how to maximize your workout.
Exercise Classes: Take an energizing fitness class with our accomplished instructor. Choose from several energy-boosting, heart-pumping, calorie-burning workouts, on the beach and in the pool. $15 per person for a 45-minute or $40 for three-class pack. $45 for up to three participants for a private class. Additional participants $10 each.
Personal Training: Hire our certified personal trainer for a customized 45-minute session tailored to your specific fitness goals. Training may take place in the fitness center or on the beach at your request. $50 for 45-minute one-on-one session or $125 for a three-session pack, including body composition analysis. $70 for two participants for a 45-minute session. $10 body composition analysis (caliper testing).
Guided Runs: Whether you’re a recreational runner or training for a race, our certified running coach can take you on a guided run of the property and surrounding area, providing gait analysis to enhance your running form and efficiency along the way. It’s a unique way to see more of the island on your own two feet. $50 per hour for the first runner. $20 per hour for each additional runner, max 4. Additional time prorated in 15 minute increments.

Nature and History Walk
Join owner/general manager Elizabeth Armstrong on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. for an informative narrative on the flora, fauna and fascinating history of The Buccaneer. (Schedule subject to change.)

Enjoy steel pan music, hors d'oeuvres and rum punch at this Tuesday afternoon get-together. Folkloric mocko-jumbies, or stilt dancers, provide unique island entertainment and provide a great photo opportunity.
Crab Races and Family Treasure Hunt
The weekly running of the crabs and our family treasure hunts are Buccaneer traditions, and are especially appreciated by the under-betting-age set.
Parents get a break and kids get to have fun at our complimentary Kids' Camp for 4-12 year olds, from 9:00am to 4:30pm, with beach fun, games, crafts, movies and other age-appropriate activities.

St. Croix artist Jane Aiken leads a watercolor class on our beautiful Great House Terrace, with expansive views to serve as inspiration. Please reach out to the concierge for pricing and availability.
Nightly Entertainment (Seasonally)
Conclude the day with dinner or night-cap at The Terrace, located in the Great House. Live local entertainment is scheduled nightly during the winter season, several times a week during spring, summer and fall.
